24 Hours In Tysons Corner

I used to work in Tysons Corner mall years ago in my mid 20s and it’s been a little while since I came back to visit. I did not know how close the Hyatt hotel was to the actual shopping center, and turns out they are literally connected — a dangerous situation for my wallet! lol We arrived a bit on the early side, as check-in is 4 p.m. Thankfully we were able to leave our bags to explore the Tysons area while they prepped our room. The lobby area is modern and has a lot of windows which brings in great natural light

The Room: Our suite was huge with great views of Tysons Corner. The bathroom came with his-and-her sinks, which is very roomy for getting ready. The living room area was super spacious, too, so it’s a perfect spot to host a small gathering before a fun night out. My friend and I arrived with two medium-sized suitcases, because, outfit shots! Lol. The room came with a small closet, which was a great perk to have.

What We Loved:  We loved that the hotel is literally connected to the mall, and the weekend of our staycation the weather was super cold so it truly was awesome that we barely had to step outside to explore Tysons Corner. The hotel also has a restaurant that serves brunch and dinner. We tried both and loved it! The restaurant’s vibe is pretty casual, and our favorite dish for dinner was the crab soup. For brunch their cocktail of the month really stood out: The coquito (Google it!) is a yummy traditional cocktail from Puerto Rico. The hotel is also conveniently located within walking distance to Tysons Galleria and the Metro.

SCDC Tip:  Bring snacks along on your staycation! Our room was super cozy and we had a fridge, so I wish we had the chance to spend a little more time in our room. Tysons Galleria is within a short walking distance — but not short enough to wear high heels — so def sport something comfy to explore.

Tysons Corner Center: Since our staycation was days before Christmas, we took our time to do a little holiday shopping. So many new stores have opened since my last Tysons visit so it was nice to check them all out. A few that stood out were Naadam and Warby Parker. Naadam has the cutest cashmere sweaters, and the store itself is adorable. With winter being here this was the perfect place to pick a few warm gifts for family members, and of course myself! At Warby Parker, I got myself a brand new pair of sunnies! They legit have such an amazing selection and if you have been following this brand since they started not too long ago, you’ll fall in love with their concept. I’m also all about investing in well-made pieces this year, so Naadam and Warby Parker def shined.

The Bloom Salon: Before dinner we wanted to get all dolled up, so Bloom Salon came to the rescue! They are located in one of the Tysons Corner towers super close to our hotel. We got blowouts and were very impressed with the customer service. I’m still thinking of my head massage during my hair wash session! I love that this salon is conveniently located close to the Hyatt hotel and Tysons Corner Center but away from all the shopping chaos. Def add it to your itinerary if you are ever around the Tysons area.

A Taste of Urban Space: This amazing new food hall is located in Tysons Galleria. We def recommend making the short stroll here for lunch. Get an on-the-go slice at Eat Andy’s Pizza to fuel up for shopping. If you are into spicy foods like I am, visit Sen Khao. I am still thinking of their Mee Kathi soup! So delicious. Donburi’s coconut shrimp def also stood out. For a sweet treat make sure to visit Ice Cream Jubilee or Stomping Ground for pastries and coffee.
