If you want to get away from fine dining for a moment, Mix Bar and Grille is a great choice. Recently we got a chance to taste the menu and the opportunity to meet Executive Chef José Armando Adorno at the second opening location in Silver Spring.

Atmosphere: Clean, casual and comfortable vibe with palette of white walls and blue lighting is the best way to describe the interior of this single-level restaurant. You have a choice of sitting bar-top to observe passers-by through the glass-encased bar, or watch the art of cooking as it occurs in the semi open-kitchen dining room. With smart flat screens wherever you look, there’s always something to keep guests entertained. We can definitely see a social party happening at Mix!
What we loved: Everything!!! From the Buffalo chicken spring rolls, to the shrimp tacos, and the must have fried chicken with Yukon gold mash and topped with garlic Tabasco butter. Honestly, there are so many options, you cannot go wrong with whatever your heart desires. For desert, if you’re looking to for something to feed that sweet tooth, a must try is a slice of rich creamy cheesecake served with blueberry ice cream.
Pro tip: Starting from 4pm to 7pm, Monday through Friday and all night every Thursday check out the happy hour menu. The menu has many shareable appetizers and bistro-style entrees as its Potomac location. So if you looking for a nice, chill spot to enjoy some unique cocktails with friends or looking for somewhere for quick bit to eat, this is the place for you!
