A few weekends ago, I got to explore Loudoun County and had so much fun wine tasting and enjoying a few of their outdoor activities. It was a fun mini getaway in which I got to enjoy with a few of my girlfriends.
Wine tasting is one of my favorite things to do, so I was excited to start our day adventure in Virginia wine country, doing just this! Sunset Hills was our first stop and I fell in love with their space. It’s beautiful inside and out. We did wine tasting with Janice, who was a pleasure to speak to. I’m not going to lie, there are times when I just wanted to taste the wine and keep it moving, but Janice was awesome at giving us knowledge paired with awesome wine! Once the tasting was done, we bought our fave Rose bottle and enjoyed the peaceful scenery Sunset Hills had to offer.
Our second stop was Doukenie winery! This place had one of the best Cabernet Franc, I have ever tasted and I’m not a fan of red wines! One of the activities that stood out here was their barrel tasting. You can request to do one with a group of 15 or less people. Food can also be provided! It’s a great way to celebrate a birthday or a special occasion.
After an afternoon of wine tasting, you are going to want to end your day with some good food! We were eager to find our favorite restaurant in Loudoun County and I can honestly say we found it! Say Hello to Market Table Bistro! Upon arrival we were greeted by a very friendly staff. We ordered a few things from their menu to share and everything was delicious. They also have a mixologist who prepares the best cocktails! Don’t be afraid to ask him to surprise you with one of his fave mixes. I also love that Market Table Bistro cooks with fresh local ingredients from area growers, vintners and culinary artisans. More reasons to stop by this wonderful restaurant!
