Last night we attended the Mari Vanna DC friends and family preview and if you follow our instagram, you know we had a total blast. We spent the evening indulging in all the traditional Russian food and open bar of 70+ Russian Vodkas among other delicious cocktails, wines, and bubbly. We also took the time to explore every floor of this beautiful space and found ourselves in total awe. The decor was absolutely stunning and incredibly well curated. As a child who grew up in the former Soviet Union, the ambiance definitely transported me 20+ years back to remind me a little of my grandmother’s house (which is exactly the vision of the restaurant). With small details like traditional photos on the walls, cozy couches, and beautiful lighting, Mari Vanna creates this comfortable yet sexy atmosphere perfect for a drink before a night out, or a dinner for a group of friends.
When we first received the invitation to this preview, we were excited, but never did we picture the evening to turn out so fun, well I guess we should have known by now that the amazing women behind Moki Media can throw one sick event, but we were still pleasantly surprised by the restaurant, the staff, and the guests who attended the event. We decided to spice up the night by attending the event with our blogger BFF duo, Natalie and Erika of The Fashionably Broke. If you don’t follow them yet, you definitely should – these girls know their fashion, and they’re so much fun too! So needless to say, we spent the evening dancing the night away to some amazing beats that included an incredible performance by Mari Vanna’s accordionist, and just enjoying everything this place had to offer. I think one of my favorite parts was tasting this incredible Georgian dessert wine and receiving our VIP matryoshka doll key chains. You better believe we will be back soon, we hear there is a private Monday night party – but you have to have the key to get in 🙂
