Luxurious Staycation At The Fairmont Hotel, Washington D.C.

the fairmont hotelThe Fairmont A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of experiencing one of the most fabulous staycations ever! The Fairmont Hotel is one of the most luxurious hotels in D.C., so whether you need a little getaway or want to feel like a princess for a few days during your next D.C. visit, this is the hotel you’ve been looking for.

Arrival: The minute you arrive, you feel like a total queen; that’s the reason why I decided to truly embrace my inner J.LO during this staycation. My room was located on their Gold Floor. You heard right! THE GOLD FLOOR. That name on its own makes you feel instantly fancy. The Fairmont Gold also has a private check-in desk for guests staying on this floor. The check-in went smooth, and I was greeted with nothing but smiles and all the info I needed to start my vacation on a high note. (The lobby just underwent a solid modern renovation, so be sure to walk around and check it out.)

The Room: Where do I start? The comfy bed? The fabulous bathroom? The view? LOL. As I continued to embrace my inner J.Lo, I started my staycation by changing into my fancy Fairmont bathrobe and enjoyed the views with a cup of coffee. The beds are super comfortable and very specious. I loved the large windows which brought beautiful natural light into the room. The bathroom is super deluxe no bathtub but you get an amazing walk-in shower which feels like you are in some sort of spa. They also have a small desk in the room in case you need to do some work, and of course, complimentary high-speed internet. .

Amenities: Guests staying in the Gold Floor may unwind in the Gold Lounge and enjoy special perks, including access to various newspapers and magazines. Continental breakfast is served between 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (weekdays) and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. (weekends). You also get complimentary cocktail canapés, served between 5 p.m. to7 p.m., I def took advantage of this perk by enjoying a glass of Moet and doing a little work at the same time! At this point of my staycation, I already was planning my master plan to live this life forever! Other perks that stood out were: Overnight Shoe Shine and Laundry Service, Complimentary Health Club access, Cribs at no cost, Car Service and more! Full list HERE!

I also loved the easy access to the gold lounge, making it truly feel like a fancy retreat! You can walk in there and the staff is ready to assist you with anything you need. You are also welcome to bring food back to your room if you don’t feel like lounging around.

SCDC Tip:
When staying at the Fairmont Hotel, save some time by dining at their beautiful restaurant, Juniper! I like that they use fresh, locally grown and sustainable ingredients to make all of their dishes. You must also grab a cocktail at their newly remodeled lounge. The lounge is specious and very instagrammable if you care about those things. Their couches decorated with green and velvet pillows are super comfy. Our fave cocktail was their Beetini which is made with honey and honeycomb from their own rooftop honey bee hive (Queen B aka Beyonce would approve!). How cool is that? I should also mention that they are a pet friendly hotel so no member of your family should be left behind when checking in at this luxurious hotel.
