What: Tiger Fork
922 N St. NW (Rear), Washington, DC 20001
Atmosphere: There is nothing better than walking into a restaurant that can transport you to a different part of the world with its unique decor, food and vibe. Tiger Fork did that and more, as the minute you walk in the doors, you feel like you just traveled to the streets of Hong Kong. The amount of detail that they spent in every corner of the restaurant is amazing. Baltimore-based tattoo artist Kike Castillo spent about a month spray-painting the walls (and now the team has been discussing getting group Tiger Fork tats). I also love that they have an open kitchen, and don’t get me started talking about their beautiful octagon-shaped bar. No need for TVs here, as the bartenders are the stars of the show–whipping up cocktails with actual medicinal qualities.
What We Loved: This place is perfect for groups! I went there with a few friends and shared almost everything off the menu and let me tell you, nothing disappointed us. There was a bit of a wait to get seated so we took the time to indulge in some cocktails. Tiger Fork’s cocktail list is based on Chinese medicine, how cool is that? Their tea -infused cocktails are also very popular. Do not leave without trying their desserts! I’m still thinking about their Bubble waffle matcha ice cream, so good! And super Instagrammable. Also a good bet: Kowloon Bun for a starter.
SCDC Tip: This is the type of restaurant where you want to indulge every moment of it, so arrive hungry and thirsty to really enjoy what it has to offer! Tiger Fork is open Tuesday through Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. on weekdays and until 1 a.m. on weekends. Don’t you love when a solid restaurant is open until late on weekends? We love you, Tiger Fork.
