What: Service Bar
926-928 U St NW, Washington, DC 20001
Atmosphere: Super chill and cool vibes in this cute and compact bar the minute you walk in the door. It took me a while to find a bar that I felt visiting often and becoming “a regular” and Service Bar def won my heart. The bartenders are super friendly and eager to give you recommendations of what you should try! Their cocktail menu has a mix of classic cocktails as well as seasonally and hyper-rotating cocktail menus based on availability and purveyors. A “snug room” is also available in the 48-seat hangout, which seats five to six people! I got this for my bday and let me tell you, I’m making this a tradition! Why go elsewhere? Like really! I should also mention how much I love the music they play! I’m talking about Bone Thugs n Harmony, Tupac, you get the ish!
What We Loved: Aside from the amazing cocktail selection, I have to say that their bar food is also super delicious and def stands out! Don’t leave without trying their fried chicken (napkins recommended). Right now they also have a featured regional Mexican cocktail menu. Cocktails infused with flavors such as cilantro, dried peppers, vanilla, and cinnamon–in fun new glassware–are what’s in store for the rest of this month! I really hope that they soon have a regional cocktail menu inspired by Bolivia–my spot! Stay tuned for details about a new menu launch soon.
SCDC Tip: Don’t miss out on trying my fave cocktail off their regional menu “Exorcisita” and I also highly recommend you getting a group of your closest tribe members and try the snug room. This tiny place is seriously magical! There is a light that you can turn on and off to alert the bartender, letting you order drinks through a magic little window that opens to get you what you need! Cheers!
