Now that the days are cooler, biking is def my number one form of transportation in the city. I just recently learned about ofo, a dockless bike sharing company that just launched in Washington DC. I love that they are dockless, meaning that you can leave the bike at any bike parking space in the city. You can find the bikes via the ofo app which is very user friendly. They all have QR codes which unlocks the bike. Once done riding, you manually lock the bike for the next person. I took my first ofo ride a few days ago and it went super smooth.
The bikes are also easy to spot! The bright yellow can’t be missed, very stylish if you ask me! It’s great to live in a city that is bike friendly. You should def check them out! Best part is that your first hour ride is FREE! And any hour after that is only $1.00! Some neighborhoods might have more access to them than others; I took my ride from Dupont Circle to Georgetown! I did not find many around my neighborhood (Brookland) but I hope that changes soon. ofo is a relatively new company too! Founder Dai Wei first launched the dockless bikes in 2014. ofo is also the world’s first largest dockless bike-sharing company. In D.C. There are 400 bikes are all around our city!
