Arrival: Let me start by saying that I’ve been eyeing a stay at this hotel since it opened. First impressions are important, and AC hotel sure knows how to give them. The staff upon our arrival was super friendly and the check in/lounge waiting area is super chic. Its minimalist decor includes gray, black and gold accents.
The Room: Other than a comfortable bed, another thing I look forward to also enjoying is the view. A room with a view can be a game changer in terms of how long I actually plan to spend time in there. Our room def had this perk! We were high enough to view The Capital wheel and the Potomac River. Our room wasn’t super spacious but big enough for two besties not to kill each other lol. I also loved their shower! Very chic and the shower head is everything! I could have stood there showering all day. Yeah! I’m exaggerating, but you get my point lol.
Amenities: The hotel offers three types of breakfasts which you can view HERE and they range from $6 to $12. The AC Lounge area was one of my fave parts of the hotel. We tried a few of their cocktails with their gin and tonic being one of my faves. If you are feeling adventurous drink wine from a porron! Don’t know what that is? GOOGLE it and thank us later! 😉 They also have a nice fitness center that we promise we would visit but as always FUN got in the way of waking up early enough to do the “adult thing” for a little (oh, well! Next time!) The hotel also has complimentary wifi and a very spacious outdoor patio in which you can also reserve for events such as your wedding or a birthday party.
What We Loved: We checked in with a lot of high expectations and AC hotel def met them all. Hard to pick what we loved the most but we are going to say that it’s between our room with the view and the good-looking bartender at the AC lounge, and of course, the good cocktails lol.
SCDC Tip: Don’t over pack as the hotel is located in a dense retail area where you can do heavy shopping! There is also an outlet nearby which we will talk about more on our next post. If you are into the robe life, also bring your own! We did not see one in our room but you can’t have it all! 😉 The AC hotel also offers packages that can make your stay even more fun! This weekend we got to experience the Harbor Hop Bar Crawl Package, which includes: Overnight room accommodations; One $20 bar credit at each participating National Harbor establishment including: Granite City Food and Brewery, The Walrus Oyster Bar and Ale House, Bobby McKeys Piano Bar, and at AC Lounge. It also includes free admission for two people to venues with a cover and Valet parking.
