Renovating my small bathroom has been on my to-do list ever since I moved into my basement studio six years ago, but I never fit it the time to tackle the project. Now that I’m literally stuck at home every day, I finally accomplished this longtime task! I knew I always wanted my dream bathroom to give off tropical vibes, and I got in-person inspo after traveling to Tulum for my bday last year!
My first thought was to cover my bathroom all up with palm-printed wallpaper, but I held back b/c I kind of also loved the original look of my clean/cream walls. So I opted to add just one accent wall of tropical leaves. The entire process took me around 2 hours, and it truly made a huge difference! For a boho chic finish, I jazzed up the window sills with plants and a few baskets I thrifted. To add some spa vibes as I’m exiting my shower, I set up a ladder-style towel rack.
Below, I’ll show you a step-by-step guide on how to install Tempaper to create an accent wall. There’s also a video on my IGTV channel you can find HERE! Remember: The bathroom is a very versatile and key part of your place — they’re where you shower, primp, and pee! Lol.
So I hope this tutorial inspires you to give your own loo a little TLC. Let’s do this!
Steps to Apply:
1. Measure the height and width of your wall.
2. Pre-cut panels to the height and width of your surface, aligning the design from panel to panel. Leave 2”- 3” inches of extra material to trim.
3. Peel back 3-to-4 ft. of the backing. Then begin application from the top edge!
4. Use a squeegee to smooth out any air pockets.
5. Trim with razor around molding. Done!
