Once in a while a certain business comes along and revolutionizes the way we do things. Drybar is one of those businesses because we no longer HAVE to do our own blowouts and yes, to me that’s revolutionary. I still remember the first time someone tried to blow dry may hair “professionally”. It was a cosmetology student and I was 17. After almost an hour in the “torture chair” I left the place looking like I stuck my fingers in a power socket and I was nearly in tears. In that moment I thought that no-one would ever be able to blow-dry my crazy, curly hair into perfectly straight tresses. My life was officially over. Of course, throughout the years I’ve had some great blowouts after a good hair cut and I eventually learned to do my own hair, but never did I learn to like it. Now that we have drybar with such an amazing service for a great price + their line of products, life got so much easier!
With all the events we had going on last week I got three drybar blow outs pretty much back-to-back — two in DuPont and one at their Wisconsin Ave location. Both were fantastic and I really loved Dominique at DuPont. I didn’t even use the hair menu, I simply showed her a pinterest picture and she got it exactly how I wanted it. If you visit, definitely ask for her.
Now came the question of how to extend the life of that fabulous blowout. Thankfully drybar is a step ahead and they have developed a wide range of products for your post blowout needs + all the other products that make life easier when doing it yourself (or when you don’t have time to do it at all). After trying a few different products, I now swear by the Sparkling Soda Shine Mist. My hair is curly so it dries out pretty quickly — this has been the answer for a perfectly shinny, healthy look post blowout. A few other favorite must tries are the perfect combo of the Detox Dry Shampoo and Conditioner and the Mai Tai Sea Salt Spray that leaves your hair perfectly textured if you don’t have time to do anything at all.
