This past Sunday I had the pleasure to stop by DC Harvest and finally try their brunch I’ve heard so much about. I had high expectations after reading their menu and what they stand for “DC Harvest is a scratch made kitchen and bar serving a seasonal menu highlighting a healthy approach to upscale dining.” I went there with my good friend Ashley of ChicvilleUSA. We kicked things off with the roasted beet salad and Farmstead cheese plate as appetizers. The first thing that comes to mind when you take that first bite is how fresh everything is — the veggies were almost as if they were picked from a veggie garden that day. And don’t even get me started on their delicious cheeses – that’s an experience in itself. For our main entrees we ordered the organic scrambled eggs and house-made spicy lamb sausage which came with sweet potato hash – a much healthier and tastier substitute for the regular potato side you often see with eggs. I was very happy with my order – the portion size was perfect leaving enough space to try a dessert. DC Harvest also offers bottomless mimosas for $15 or bottomless bloody mary’s for $20. Below is a little Q&A with Jared, one of the owners of DC Harvest.
