Shop Local: Gift Guide

bolivian wine, shop local,

1750 Wines: Give the gift of Bolivia in a glass with a bottle of delicious, high-quality wine from Uvairenda’s boutique vineyards. Located in Samaipata, a small town two hours outside of Santa Cruz, this frontier of South American viticulture between the Andes’ Elbow and Siberia mountain ridge is home to four centuries of wine history. The vineyards blanket east-facing slopes at 1750 meters, hence the name 1750 wines, or 5,741 feet above sea-level — a high-altitude terroir that produces some of the finest roses and syrahs in the world (after a recent taste, I can attest that this is true!). Pick them up at local Latin wine shop Grand Cata!

skincando, mud mask, shop local
I swear by this mask!

Skincando Luxe Line: Get your friend hooked on this handcrafted lux beauty line, made with locally-sourced whole food ingredients mixed with organic herbs, extra virgin fruit seed oils, adaptogens, supplements, clay, teas, and spices. The glass-enclosed wild honey cleanser and mask, recommended for anyone with very sensitive and dry skin, is a perfect way to polish skin in the winter. The shimmering, emerald green skin saver is made with wild thyme honey from Crete! The workhorse of the line is the Pearl Mud mask and exfoliant, made with fresh glacial clay mixed with pearl powder and organic elderflower extract. Other essential stocking stuffers include the Aloe Foam — basically a quick trip the spa in a pump bottle! — and calming CBD cleansing oil/makeup remover that wipes off the day.

dolci gelati, gelato pint, shop local

Gelato Pints by Dolci Gelati: To celebrate the Washington Nationals’ epic World Series win, Shaw’s award-winning gelato shop opted to make its popular red “Natitude” gelato — normally only sold at Nationals Park — available to the masses this holiday season. Remember to stock these containers in the freezer, not a stocking! 🙂 other favorite flavors of mine are their nutella and toasted coconut gelato.

Their brunch and dinner menu, never disappoints but you might not know that you can also purchase some of their authentic italian dinnerware sets. They are so cute! Prices run from $30 to $45.
