Arrival: The entire staff at the Wharf’s new Hyatt House is super friendly! I especially love that the check-in stand is close to their bar, so if you arrive a little early, you are a short walk to a nice cocktail or their amazing rooftop patio!
The Room: Their rooms are modern and spacious and ours came with a great view of the waterfront. Hyatt House is designed for you to legit feel at home, and their rooms have a small stove so you can totally bring a small bag of groceries with you to prepare easy meals during your stay. Their fridge is medium-sized so bring your favorite bottle of wine with you or a pack of beer. And their swivel TVs make for great viewing from any spot in the room.
Amenities: The best part of the Hyatt House is their amazing patio and pool with waterfront views to remember! They also have a 24-hour gym, which is convenient for those who enjoy their daily workout any time of day. The Hyatt House is also a pet-friendly hotel, so don’t leave your furry baby behind! If you do not feel like cooking your own eggs in the morning, the hotel offers free breakfast. We sure took advantage of that!
H Bar: During your stay at the hotel, you can dine and drink at H bar! They have a great selection of bar bites, and most important, yummy cocktails! Our bartender def made us feel at home with some of her favorite suggestions. We opted to sit by the bar but its lounge area has a few tables around if you would like to meet with friends. This is def a great starting point for your Wharf experience!
What We Loved: The beds at the hotel are absolutely comfortable! I also really liked that we had a big fridge to store any leftover items we got from our Wharf night out! The pool is very family friendly with great views. The hotel is also in the middle of some of the most amazing restaurants in DC such as Hank’s Oyster bar, Mi Vida and Lupo Verde. And don’t let me forget to mention that they have a 24-hour market where you can pick snacks or anything else you might of forgotten to pack in your suitcase!
SCDC Tip: The hotel is a 15-min walk from L’Enfant metro station. You can also catch a shuttle from the metro to the Wharf area if you can’t deal with D.C.’s heat/humidity! (WHO CAN! LOL) Take advantage of their pool during evening hours as the perfect place to catch an amazing sunset or watch the fireworks as we did during our Fourth of July staycation! 🙂
