Trader Joe’s low-calorie grocery list for the girl or boy on the go!

To follow up with my recent weight lost blog post, I want to share with you a list of my favorite healthy items that are always scribbled on my Trader Joe’s grocery list. This lineup works best for the girl or boy on the run who doesn’t have a lot of time to shop. If you have a family or a significant other, you can still use this shopping grocery list, but up the quantity as you feel necessary.

After going into full-blown Keto mode last September, I quickly realized I was not going to be able to keep up with such a strict diet forever — so what I did is modified the diet to a less strict version so my tummy wouldn’t go crazy the minute I would eat some carbs or fried food (which happened when I first got off the keto diet). My diet now is still very low in carbs and sugars but high in proteins as well. I still avoid eating legumes because I realized they make me really bloated. I also don’t work out often, so being mindful of my eating habits is very important to maintain my weight. I keep track of my calorie intake using the app Lifesum which I LOVE and highly recommend!

My TJ Grocery List:

Pesto Genovese Chicken Breast: I’m awful at seasoning meat so when I found out TJ’s had chicken breast already seasoned, I was excited (though a little skeptical on how it would taste). But let me tell you, this is a winner! All you have to do is throw it in the oven or fry it on a pan and you can have dinner ready in no time.

Chicken Italian (Jalapeno) Sausage: Easy to cook and packed with flavor! I usually eat it alone or with a side of veggies or mashed cauliflower.

Kung Pao Tempura Cauliflower:  This is perfect for those Netflix and Chill nights! I recommend eating this right away after roasting it in the oven, and I don’t use all the sauce. I actually like it better without the sauce (and less calories!).

Spinach Sour Cream Dip: Literally the perfect snack! I eat it alone or I pair it with some gluten-free crackers or sliced cucumbers.

Cauliflower Rice/Cauliflower Florets: I can’t live without cauliflower in my fridge. I use the cauliflower florets for soup and mashed cauliflower. It’s why I stock up on both types.

Cream Cheese: I use cream cheese to make my flourless pancakes and mashed cauliflower, so I always have this item on hand!

Gluten Free Crispbread: The perfect little compliment to scramble eggs or the spinach sour cream dip.

Toasted Coconut Granola: My favorite granola because I love coconut anything! It goes well with plain greek yogurt and a drop of organic honey.

Oven-Baked Cheese Bites: The perfect on-the-go snack to keep in your bag or at the desk.

Sparkling Coconut Water With Yuzu: OMG! Obsessed with this sparkling water. It is only 60 calories and it does not have any added sugar. I treat myself to one of these cans twice a week. If you are not into coconut flavors, this might not be your thing, but if you are, get excited to sip!

Eggs: I don’t go a day without eating my eggs! It’s an essential part of my daily diet.

Almond or coconut flour: I have one of each bag in my pantry.
Main meats: Ground beef, ground chicken, chicken breast
My core veggies/fruits: Green/red peppers, cabbage, baby spinach, onions, cucumbers, asparagus, avocado, jalapenos, raspberries, strawberries, lemons/limes.
